Model number guide
Find the label before you find the part.
Your model number is usually on a label, plate, or sticker placed where it can be checked during service.
Where to look
- Refrigerator: inside the fresh-food compartment, on a side wall or ceiling.
- Washer or dryer: around the door opening, lid, or rear panel.
- Dishwasher: along the inside edge of the door or tub.
- Vacuum: on the underside, back, or near the dust bin.
- HVAC: on the equipment cabinet or service panel.
What to record
Copy the full model number exactly, including letters, numbers, and any suffixes. A nearby serial number may look similar, but it is usually not the model number.
Next step
When model search is available, enter that complete model number so the result can be matched to the right appliance. For a refrigerator-specific walkthrough, read how to find your refrigerator model number.
