How to find your refrigerator model number

The model number is the best starting point for finding a replacement filter that fits your exact refrigerator.

Where to look first

Open the refrigerator doors and look for a product label on an inside wall, ceiling, or side panel. On some models, the label is near the crisper drawers or behind a drawer. Side-by-side refrigerators may place it on the wall beside the fresh-food compartment.

If you do not see it inside, check the door frame, behind the lower kickplate, or the back of the appliance. Locations vary by manufacturer and model, so use the owner’s manual or manufacturer support page when the label is difficult to find.

Copy the complete model number

Write down every letter, number, and suffix exactly as shown. A final letter can identify a finish or configuration, and a small difference can point to a different filter system. Do not replace the model number with the serial number, service number, or a shortened product name.

  1. Take a clear photo of the label.
  2. Copy the model number, including internal hyphens or suffixes.
  3. Enter it into the FitsMyModel search.

Still unsure?

Compare the label with the manufacturer’s support information. If FitsMyModel does not have the model yet, you can request that we add it.
