How to find the right refrigerator water filter

A filter that looks right is not necessarily the filter listed for your refrigerator. Start with the exact model number.

Start with the appliance, not the filter shape

Refrigerator water filters can look similar while using different connections, housings, or replacement families. The filter name printed on a cartridge can help, but it should be checked against the refrigerator model and the manufacturer’s instructions.

How FitsMyModel works

  1. Enter your model. Copy the complete model number from the appliance label into the model search.
  2. Check the match. A public result is generated only when the model has a verified compatibility record.
  3. Review the evidence. The result shows the part, manufacturer source, and date of the last review.

Use the manufacturer source as the final reference

FitsMyModel explains the match, but the manufacturer’s product page, support page, manual, or specification sheet remains the source to review. Follow the installation and flushing instructions for your refrigerator model. If the information on your appliance or manual conflicts with a result, do not guess—report the issue.

When a model is not listed

A missing model does not mean that no filter exists. It means FitsMyModel has not published a verified record for it yet. You can request the model and include the brand, model number, and appliance type.
