Check both numbers
Record the complete refrigerator model number and the number printed on the old filter. Do not rely on the brand alone, a partial model number, or a retailer title that says “fits most.” Use the complete model in the FitsMyModel search, then compare the result with the manufacturer source.
Check the installation style
Twist-in, push-in, and inline filters do not install the same way. Confirm that the cartridge is intended for the housing in your refrigerator and that protective caps or seals have been removed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Do not force or normalize the suffix
Codes such as /01, /02, AA, and regional suffixes are part of the model identity unless the manufacturer explicitly documents an alias. A nearby-looking model is not evidence that the same filter fits.
Use an official source
LG directs owners to model-specific support when diagnosing filter and water-flow issues. Samsung also provides a troubleshooting path for filters that do not fit. These are useful checks, but they do not replace the exact source for your appliance.
If the source and the physical cartridge disagree, do not buy or install it yet. Search the exact model again or request research for a model that is not verified.
